Memorial Day Reflecting By Carol Harblin (CHHC)

Memorial Day…it’s more than a day off from work…it’s also a day of reflecting and memorializing the people who have served for the country too.
People have many ways of showing their peace and reflection for someone.
We all have our ways of grieving or honoring people.
Being with family and friends on Memorial Day is a massive dose of relationships in the primary food area. Just the idea of being with our loved ones on the brink of summer makes us smile.
Having a conversation with a grandparent, parent, spouse, niece, nephew, cousin, Aunt, Uncle, and siblings can be life-changing and will stay with you for a lifetime.
These are the moments we have to embrace now with our loved ones, so that down the road we won’t have any regrets.
How full do you feel after a cook-out with family this weekend? It wasn’t just the food you were eating…you were getting fed off each other too.
What is a good thing to eat at a picnic anyway?
- fruit salad
- *salads in general, i.e. macaroni, potato, tossed, fruit, etc…
- barbeque chicken
- kabobs
- grilled vegetables
- corn on the cob
- water
- home-made lemonade
- sun tea
What are some fun family activities?
- Frisbee
- soccer
- volleyball
- kick ball
- horse shoes
- bubble blowing
- croquet
- (board games if it’s raining)
These are the days that make-up our memories for tomorrow…let’s make them good ones!!
