On the latest album Shortcut to the Center (produced by rock legend Ronnie Montrose), Jerry has styles that range from classic fusion, to reggae, to melodic rock, and to a style that can only be called ‘dan’. Players on the album are Northern California’s finest. Bruce Spencer, (now touring with Jackie Greene), plays with an amazing feel on this album. Marty Holland, who has played bass with a huge list of people including Lydia Pence of Cold Blood, Bill Kreutzman of the Grateful Dead, Dave Garibaldi and Lenny Williams of Tower of Power. Scott Reams on keys (currently touring with Benton Paul).

“…The Jerry Jennings Band was also quite enjoyable…This band played a nice mix of jazz-influenced rock with elements and influences ranging from Steely Dan, Pat Metheny, Weather Report, to more prog rock stuff like Gentle Giant, Zappa and Happy the Man.” – Progressive Ears

“Make that “Jammin” Jerry Jennings! One of the coolest local releases I’ve come across yet. Jerry is a great guitarist with an incredible feel and excellent tone. This recording ventures into the rock/fusion territory with some great performances all the way around a la Jeff Beck. Jennings has a songwriting style that speaks to the listener without words, only soundscapes of wonderful imagery that take you to a kool world…It’s a fresh album with a different turn at every track…” –Sac This Week

“With his latest release Shortcut to the Center, Jerry Jennings has proven that he is the heir apparent to such guitar legends as Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and David Gilmour. While Jennings is technically proficient on his instrument, he clearly understands that tone and feel count for everything. Thankfully, this is not another guitar CD that is wall to wall shredding and noodling, but instead features remarkably melodic performances that touch the heart and soul of the listener…The production duties were handled by guitarist Ronnie Montrose (who also contributed burning guitar trade-offs with Jerry on “One Blue Lady”). Highly recommended!” –Tim Morse, Music News Network

ML3

Click To Listen Live

ML3 is a Seattle based original rock band that has been to prison ninety two times… in four different states. They never go quietly and they never go alone. Traveling with twenty-three thousands pounds of stage and lighting and a dedicated crew of twenty, they are hard to miss. You will find ML3 rock’n in various venues: Clean and Sober events, Festivals, Prisons (youth, adult), Biker events, Concerts Halls, and Clubs. Captive audiences are their specialty!

ML3 is probably the truest since of the word “Underground Band” being up until about a year ago, outside of a few public appearances has played solely for inmates. A felon friendly group to say the least! Founders of the band John McBride (20 years recovered crack head) and April McBride (21 years sober) are anchored in their recovery programs and work intensely with other alcoholics and addicts. Both have survived the throngs of severe depression in the early years of recovery so excellently defined in “A Vision for You”. Pain is a great motivator drunk or sober. Being faced with a life or death experience in sobriety, both threw themselves completely into working all 12 steps. Both found the “easiest and softest way” to maintain some semblance o f sanity and usefulness is being consistent in the program..all aspects: Unity, Recovery, and Service!

They are a far cry from the hopeless walking disasters they used to be of years past. No more boogie men in the crawl space, no more tree people observing every breath, no more sounds of the whole world screaming in the background in unison, to say the least sanity has been restored!

What does ML3 stand for? John and April are the founders of a non-profit called Morning Light which serves as a transitional assistance program for those re-entering society after incarceration or drug/alcohol rehab. With a crew of 20+ ex-felons and friends in recovery they pull out all the stops for their new found brothers and sisters serving time. ML3 band performs a 1 ½ hour rock concert with AA styled sharing in-between songs, informs audience of the services available and remains in contact with inmates serving out the remainder of their time. The “3” in ML3 represents “Unity, Recovery, and Service”.

With a sincere heart of service in combination with the gift of music John and April have done their best to share a message of experience, strength and hope to those who still suffer…anywhere!

Northwest Music Scene

by Holistic Lifestyles Radio on Jul.13, 2010, under Home

July 12th 2010 10 PM ET (7PM PT) “Rockers In Recovery” will be interviewing “Northwest Music Scene” which has grown into one of the largest music only networks in the northwest

My name is Glen C. and I am in Recovery,

I grew in Washington State near the Canadian border and early on in my life learned value of hard work and that has stuck with me ever since. Working on fishing boats in Alaska in my late teens, probably had something to do with my work ethic too!

I have loved most forms of music as far back as I can remember. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Ernest Tubb, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins and many others from that era is what we listened to in our house. My love affair with Rock and Roll didn’t actually start until my late teens. Then I discovered FM radio and Van Halen! I spent many years going to concerts, listening to radio and devouring as much of this music as I could.
To this day, I still have a very wide variety of music that I listen too. My playlist can go from Black Sabbath to Brandi Carlile to classical music and back to Elvis, in a heartbeat.

A few years ago I was given the opportunity to get into a side of music I hadn’t experienced before. That side was promotions and marketing. I fell in love with the challenge of creating something out of nothing.

My site, the Northwest Music Scene has grown into one of the largest music only networks in the Northwest. We like to call it the digital equivalent to a gig poster. Through this site we have been able to expose some extremely talented people to others that would not normally have heard of them. Starting only four months ago the Facebook page is nearing 12,000 fans and nearly 6,000 on Myspace. Our brand new website will be launched soon so stay tuned for some exciting details about that.

My other venture is called Recovery Palooza. Because of my involvement with VIII Days Clean from the promotions side of the band I had the opportunity to see how lives were being affected in a positive way through music. I decided that I would like to do this in more than just the Northwest.

The first Recovery Palooza tour is going to happen in August of 2010. The tour is going to be paid for by VIII Days Clean and it will stretch the length of the West Coast and they will play with other recovering musicians in clean and sober venues along the way.
Recovery Palooza and VIII Days Clean is part of a global recovery movement. We aim to break the myth that recovery is boring and no fun. We have found just the opposite to be true!

I am also very excited to be a Co-Producer of Rockers in Recovery along with John Hollis. John has been extremely generous in including me on this most incredible journey…and you know what folks? We are just getting started. The best is yet to come!

You can find out more about Recovery Palooza and the Northwest Music Scene by looking us up on Facebook.

Pocono Blues Festival

by Holistic Lifestyles Radio on Jul.23, 2010, under Home

The management and staff of the 19th Annual Pocono Blues Festival welcomes you to three days of world class blues. We are very proud of being nationally recognized as one of the top blues festivals in the world. Since 1992, we have showcased more than 300 national and international bands.

This year, our lineup consists of 19 national recording artitsts including the big names Mavis Staples, Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and several artists that you may have heard but have never seen before that perform an eclectic mix of the full spectrum of the music, showcasing contemporary and traditional electric and acoustic blues, rhythm and blues, sacred steel gospel music, and zydeco music.

We have had so many historic memories throughout the first 18 years. Do you remember Eddie Clearwater entering the festival on a white stallion in 1998, or Shemekia Copeland making her grand entrance to the stage on a Harley Davidson in 2002?

Whether this is your first Pocono Blues Festival or your 19th, it is our sincere hope that you enjoy every minute of your experience at the festival and the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

The Renewal Centre at Crossroads Is One Of The Sponsors For “Rockers In Recovery”

The Renewal Centre at Crossroads is designed to offer people in various stages of recovery an opportunity to revive and refresh, their recovery experience. We provide a safe, supportive environment to explore various issues with an emphasis on creating balance in one’s life. Through staff facilitation and group interaction, participants experience a powerful week of self awareness and rediscovery.

All of our recovery retreats are founded in the Twelve Steps as well as the Crossroads Centre whole person approach to recovery. This means that in addition to Twelve Step studies, lectures, facilitated group discussions and individual assignments, participants are introduced to complementary therapies such as: yoga, fitness activities, meditation, and massage therapy. Our recovery retreats, while providing an opportunity for intensive self-discovery and awareness, also combine off -site activities unique to Antigua to make for an enriched experience. As our participants know only too well, Antigua is the perfect place to continue the journey of recovery.

Please note: If in recovery, these programs are designed for individuals with a minimum of 60 days of abstinence/ sobriety. People who are actively using alcohol or drugs addictively are not appropriate for this program. Crossroads Centre is an alcohol and drug-free facility and all participants are expected to adhere to this policy.

Reinvent Your Recovery Recovery is about more than just abstinence or sobriety. It involves continued growth and attention in order to develop into something that is healthy and vital, yet it is common for people in various stages of recovery to feel that there is something missing or less satisfying in their personal recovery. Through lectures, small group sessions and various complementary therapies, we will help participants reinvent their recovery experience into something that is dynamic and vibrant. All of this takes place in breathtaking Antigua West Indies, and incorporates the many sights, sounds and experiences of this nature island. Whether you are looking for quiet reflection and spiritual reconnection or shared fellowship and adventure, this renewal retreat has something to offer everyone.
