Based in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, I grew up with Music including Blues, R&B, Jazz and Rock & Roll. My older sister and brother fed me their old 8 tracks and vinyl, and I knew at an early age that music could satisfy the soul! I learned to play the drums in my early teens, taking lessons from the late Butch Tucker, a prominent Jazz drummer and sought my way to the big time, with dreams of fame and fortune. Well, fame and fortune never really came about, but a transition through playing various genres of music through the eighties finally led me back to the roots of the blues in 1990. Check out more about Tony At http://www.bluessource.com/content.php?name=Anthony Dellaria

While finishing my engineering degree in Syracuse NY, I met a Harp player named Midnight Mike Pettroff (The Dirty Pool, Syracuse, NY). Mike encouraged me to be more open minded as a musician, and after I got honest about the music that made me feel the best, I realized that somehow all good music somehow emanates from the BLUES!

After moving to Tampa Florida in 1993, I had the opportunity to play with another great Harp player, Mr. Philip Bozman, better know as “Nitro”. The list of great, but little known Blues players I have had the opportunity to meet and even play with goes on.

While attending the Tampa Bay and Sarasota Blues Festivals in 1993 -1994, I began taking photographs of various artists, and found another passion other than playing the Blues. Thanks to photographers, journalists, and Blues Fans like Gary Miller and Tim Richards, I became inspired to take the photography a little more seriously, and was encouraged to do something with my photographs. I also got some great support from the Long Island Blues Society, and I suppose I need to mention my wife!

I lucked out in June of 2004, and obtained press access to Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in Dallas Texas, and since that turning point have tried to attend as many Blues Festivals as time and money allow. There is just something very special about being right up there next to the Artist and getting that special look that lets me know everything really is going to beall right, just like Muddy said!

I post some of my photos at www.msnusers.com/tonydellariasbluespics, although the site needs some serious attention! Also, Gary Miller has given me some great opportunities to post right here at bluessource.com. www.BluesSource.com brings you the real deal when it comes to covering the Blues. I hope you connect often!

Northwest Music Scene

July 12th 2010 10 PM ET (7PM PT) “Rockers In Recovery” will be interviewing “Northwest Music Scene” which has grown into one of the largest music only networks in the northwest

My name is Glen C. and I am in Recovery,

I grew in Washington State near the Canadian border and early on in my life learned value of hard work and that has stuck with me ever since. Working on fishing boats in Alaska in my late teens, probably had something to do with my work ethic too!

I have loved most forms of music as far back as I can remember. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Ernest Tubb, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins and many others from that era is what we listened to in our house. My love affair with Rock and Roll didn’t actually start until my late teens. Then I discovered FM radio and Van Halen! I spent many years going to concerts, listening to radio and devouring as much of this music as I could.
To this day, I still have a very wide variety of music that I listen too. My playlist can go from Black Sabbath to Brandi Carlile to classical music and back to Elvis, in a heartbeat.

A few years ago I was given the opportunity to get into a side of music I hadn’t experienced before. That side was promotions and marketing. I fell in love with the challenge of creating something out of nothing.

My site, the Northwest Music Scene has grown into one of the largest music only networks in the Northwest. We like to call it the digital equivalent to a gig poster. Through this site we have been able to expose some extremely talented people to others that would not normally have heard of them. Starting only four months ago the Facebook page is nearing 12,000 fans and nearly 6,000 on Myspace. Our brand new website will be launched soon so stay tuned for some exciting details about that.

My other venture is called Recovery Palooza. Because of my involvement with VIII Days Clean from the promotions side of the band I had the opportunity to see how lives were being affected in a positive way through music. I decided that I would like to do this in more than just the Northwest.

The first Recovery Palooza tour is going to happen in August of 2010. The tour is going to be paid for by VIII Days Clean and it will stretch the length of the West Coast and they will play with other recovering musicians in clean and sober venues along the way.
Recovery Palooza and VIII Days Clean is part of a global recovery movement. We aim to break the myth that recovery is boring and no fun. We have found just the opposite to be true!

I am also very excited to be a Co-Producer of Rockers in Recovery along with John Hollis. John has been extremely generous in including me on this most incredible journey…and you know what folks? We are just getting started. The best is yet to come!

You can find out more about Recovery Palooza and the Northwest Music Scene by looking us up on Facebook.

Mike Zito

Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Zito was immersed in the gritty sounds of the south side that would unknowingly become the groundwork of his future in music. Like the legends before him, music has coursed through his veins from the early age of five, when he began singing and performing. It didn’t take long for him to discover his instrument of choice – electric guitar – after receiving a Van Halen record for his birthday. His education and journey were just starting – little did he know he would find himself among such legends at a local guitar shop just out of high school. “Everyone from Chuck Berry to Bennie Smith came in that store,” Zito shares of his experience. “I soaked up the sounds of that store and began building my own style.”

Zito’s journey took off at the age of 19, when he busted into the local St. Louis music scene, developing his sound even further from the stage. His first independent release arrived in 1996, titled “Blue Room” which included raw and funky songs “Hollywood” and “Pull the Trigger”. His songwriting experience would break through on his sophomore release titled “America’s Most Wanted” in 1999. This album shares his pop sensibilities and intense guitar work. “Crazy People”, “Deal Me In” and his own rendition of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” all set the pace to bring him into a national audience.

Jeff Duncan started playing guitar at the age of 10 and first cemented his reputation in the history of heavy metal as a co-founder and guitarist of ODIN.

Formed in 1980, ODIN unleashed a powerful sound that bridged the gap between the purest form of metal and a star-driven image without compromising the bands omnipotent edge. Playing to… packed houses all over the Southern California region, ODIN sold out every major venue in Los Angeles. The bands stronghold on the scene spawned a bidding war between several major labels. By 1988, Duncan’s stature took on another dimension when he joined heavy metal stalwarts Armored Saint. Today, Jeff remains a definitive member of Armored Saint in which his role has expanded to co-writer on such classic cuts as “Last Train Home” and the title track to what is considered by many fans to be the bands finest hour, Symbol of Salvation.

“God had control of the pencil on this one” said Richie Supa as we spoke about the new release of “Last House On The Block” and how it brought him to tears while producing the song. Richie is a man of deep talent and love of others as we can feel in songs like Amazing” (1993), co-written with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.

Richie Supa has been a behind-the-scenes voice in the legendary rock band Aerosmith for years. Richie Supa additionally, helped co-write several songs, including the hits “Chip Away the Stone” (1978), “Lightning Strikes” (1982), ” and “Pink” (1997), among others.

Richie Supa co-wrote most of the songs on Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora’s second solo album Undiscovered Soul. He also wrote the song “Misery” for the album Missundaztood by Pink, on which Aerosmith’s singer Steve Tyler and Richie Sambora collaborated and co-wrote the song “My Interpretation” from Mika’s debut album Life in Cartoon Motion.

Artists who have cut Supa’s songs read like a who’s who of the music industry, with over 50 million records sold.
